The HGS Mechanical engineering team is responsible for performing a variety of mechanical engineering design and analysis tasks which requires knowledge of engineering theory and principles to determine design solutions for electronic, electromechanical and optical head up display and guidance products for both the commercial and military fields. Our engineers are responsible for ensuring products are safe and comply with aviation standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Requirements research and definition
  • CAD modeling using either SolidWorks or Unigraphics NX to meet product requirements
  • Tolerance stack analysis including GD&T development for product definition
  • Drawing development with__cross functional teams__
  • Development of test procedures and test plans
  • Development of alignment and test fixture tooling
  • Ability to communicate and present ideas/designs through a development cycle

Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) required
  • Knowledge of engineering materials and processes
  • Experience in a 3D CAD solid modeling software package (SolidWorks and/or UG NX preferred)
  • Understand basic stress and strain theory
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Additional skills a plus:

  • Analysis and application of appropriate tolerances using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance principles
  • Experience with FEA software package (ANSYS preferred)
  • Static structural, dynamic structural and thermal analysis techniques
