Kelly Services is now seeking a qualified Logistics Technician/Material Coordinator with a premier Burley, ID employer. Our client, a leader in the chemical industry has an immediate opening for a Logistics Technician/Materials Coordinator to work at its Burley, Idaho location. 

These is a long-term indefinite temp position.

  • 1-3 years solid work experience
  • $16 an hour
  • 48 hours PTO (paid time off) each year. Pro-rated 1st year based on start date
  • 6 Paid Holidays
  • Service Bonus

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri

Mon thru Wed: 7AM – 3:30 PM                               8 hours (30-minute unpaid lunch)

Thurs:  12 PM – 6PM (Gate coverage)                   6 hours

Fri:  6AM – 6PM  (Gate coverage)                         12 hours

Logistics:

  • Working closely with the plant Logistics Coordinator to manage logistics operations including checking in drivers for both inbound/outbound shipments.
  • Performing plant orientation for truck drivers and directing traffic on lot to ensure safe logistics operations on site.
  • Performing periodic gate inspections of both incoming and outgoing traffic.
  • Managing Bill of Ladings for shipments and updating SAP for shipments including allocating loads.
  • Recording sign-in/sign-out for plant visitors and tracking hours for contractors and truck drivers on site.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in the gate house, as well as in the areas surrounding the gate house, i.e. snow removal, salting, calling outside resources for snow removal as necessary, etc.
  • Follow good hygiene practices and appropriate protocols and procedures for safe logistics operations during pandemic times as necessary.
  • Manage visitors and calls and direct, manage calls and visitors as appropriate.
  • Receive packages and deliveries for the site.
  • Follow site PPE requirements and operating procedures.

Materials Coordinator:

  • Manage inventory in plant inventory management system for spare parts and supplies.
  • Replenish spares as necessary.
  • Enter purchase requisitions in SAP for materials and supplies.
  • Work with material coordinator to ensure ordering and receiving of parts is managed properly.
  • Procure parts and supplies as needed for maintenance activities, EH&S and other plant needs including but not limited to parts, PPE, cleaning supplies, etc.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in the MRO area and participate in plant/site housekeeping efforts.

 

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and can learn new systems quickly.
  • Proficiency in SAP preferred but not required.
  • Inventory or procurement experience a plus.
  • Be able to pass a physical test and be able to use standard safety equipment.
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds, lift hoses, bolt flanges and similar equipment routinely.
  • Communicate effectively across a diverse work group.
  • Follow procedures and practices to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must have a current, valid, United States driver license.
