Groundskeeper

Full time, year round position for an educational account in Springfield, MA.  This position will have a focus on All Grounds and Landscaping needs.

M-F 6:00am-2:30pm with overtime as required

Job description:

The Groundskeeper will be responsible for providing services in the following areas:

  • Trash removal throughout campus
  • Concrete and cold patch applications as needed
  • Light grounds equipment mechanical work
  • Regular maintenance of equipment throughout the grounds department
  • Maintenance of both athletic fields and campus grounds as needed. 
  • General landscaping including, but not limited to: 
    • Leaf removal
    • Mowing
    • Mulching
    • Manual watering and maintenance of landscaped beds campus wide
    • Manual snow removal, plowing, and treating parking lots and walkways
    • Other duties may be assigned as required by management and supervisor

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Operational knowledge of all pruning and horticultural equipment
  • Operational knowledge of landscaping equipment, including, but not limited to:
    • Tractors
    • Mowers
    • Hedge trimmers
    • Edgers
    • Blowers
    • Weed Whackers
  • Previous landscaping/grounds experience required
  • Ability to work in a team or independently
  • Snow removal/plowing experience required
  • Must have valid driver’s license and pass a background check.
