The*Tools & Parts Attendant*performs various routine duties pertaining to requisitioning, ordering, shipping, issuing, and controlling materials, parts and tools. Provides hand tools, shop supplies and equipment support for the maintenance complex.

*Principal Accountabilities*

* Receives, stores and issues hand tools, replacement tools, shop supplies and equipment.

* Keeps records of tools issued to and returned by workers.

* Searches for lost or misplaced tools and notifies supervision as required.

* Prepares periodic inventory or keeps perpetual inventory and requisitions stock as needed

* Unpacks and stores new equipment.

* Visually inspects tools or measures with micrometer for wear or defects and reports damaged or worn-out equipment to superiors.

* Performs daily tool room inventory control.

* Maintains secure tool room access process for all hours of work performance.

* Complies with local tool control program procedures.

* Assists with the TMDE management program in accordance with program procedures for all TMDE items requiring calibration control.

* Assists Repair Cycle Specialist (RCS) in maintaining inventories on parts, tools and equipment.

* Assists RCS with the ordering of tools, parts, and equipment within the control of the tool room facility.

* Handles and disposes of hazardous materials IAW SDS and applicable state and federal guidelines.

* Maintains technical order files, E-Tools, bench stock, shop stock, CTKs, and hazardous waste areas.

* Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times.

* Follows technical data, manuals, regulations, and other maintenance directives as required.

* Coats tools with grease or other preservative, using a brush or spray gun.

* Attaches identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment using electric marking tool.

* Perform additional duties as requested

*Knowledge & Skills*

* Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

* Working knowledge of general hand tools, their applications, and the ability to read AFIs, technical orders, manuals and regulations.

* Ability to communicate effectively and work well as a member of a team.

* Basic knowledge of various computer applications such as Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

*Experience & Education*

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Specialized training courses are desirable.

* Minimum of two-years experience in the Tools & Parts field.

*Physical Requirements/Working Environment*

* Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and software applications.

* Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.

* Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.

* Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.

* Must be able to lift heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds.

* Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.

* Must be able to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, etc.

* Must be able to lift/push/pull minimum of 50 pounds.

* May work in warehouse or outside where it is drafty, noisy and dirty.

* May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment.

* May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or vehicles.

* Will be required to handle dirty parts and lubricants.

* Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

* May be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, to austere environments, under harsh living conditions.

* Must be able to meet the medical deployment requirements IAW CENTCOM MOD 15.
