Bard High School Early College(BHSEC) Queens, a partnership of Bard College and the NYC Department of Education, invites applications for a leave replacement faculty position to teach courses in our high school Spanish language program from February 2021 through June 2021. BHSEC, a national model in public school reform, enables talented and highly motivated students to graduate with an associate of arts (A.A.) degree from Bard College and a NYS Regents diploma within four years.  The academic program emphasizes a commitment to teaching a diverse student body in a liberal arts environment. Our World Language department employs the immersion method in all courses and stresses the study of the cultural contexts where the language is spoken. Experience teaching younger students and a commitment to scholarship are desirable.  Native fluency or equivalent is required. Candidates with a Ph.D. in your field and/or certification to teach in the New York City public school system are given priority.
