Job Summary: The ultrasound technologist operates ultrasound equipment to make quality images of designated portions of the body under the direct order of a physician and in accordance with standard operating procedures. Accomplishes patient care in a timely, professional, efficient and safe manner. The ultrasound technologist must be able to think and act independently and assess emergency situations accurately. Good oral and written communication skills are required.
Required Education: Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare related profession
Required License: ARDMS (abdomen, breast, fetal echo, OB/GYN, neuro, pediatric sonography) registry in (3) three specialties. Additionally, vascular ultrasound registry from either ARDMS, ARRT or CCI. High Risk OB technologist must be registered in OB/GYN. Must complete required CEU's to maintain certification. BCLS certified.
Preferred License: ARDMS in 4 specialties. High Risk OB preferred license is fetal echo, pediatrics and/or neurosonology.
Required Experience: 60 months previous experience in ultrasound. High Risk OB preferred experience is 60 months in ultrasound routinely performing OB/GYN exams.Required QA: Technologist must participate in section QA programs and complete required educational guidelines in addition to the ARRT ,ARDMS or CCI re-certification guidelines
Preferred Experience: 72 months previous experience in ultrasound. High Risk OB preferred experience is 72 months previous ultrasound experience in a high risk obstetrical setting.Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
