What you will do
You will both determine how the business needs of Johnson Controls Global Procurement team can be technically enabled and lead and execute delivery of the technical enablement. Your focus will be on Data Analytics projects and initiatives for Procurement globally. You will work closely with Procurement IT Business Partner and Procurement to develop an understanding of the functions and processes they are seeking to analyze, and the related data requirement details. Then in collaboration with IT Analytics COE, you will propose a technical solution and fill the role of IT Business Lead in the delivery of that solution. Your goal is to deliver quality solutions that exceed business expectations.

You will have accountability for Procurement Data Analytics solutions delivery and execution on a multi-year project roadmap. This position requires building strong partnering relationships across IT delivery organizations, IT business partners, business stakeholders and 3rd party solution providers. You will be responsible for overall Global Procurement relationship pertaining to delivery of Procurement Data Analytics projects including Enterprise Spend Reporting, Buyer Cockpit and Procurement Data Model.

How you will do it
  • Develop detailed understanding of Procurement business objectives, priorities and requirements.
  • Develop relationships with Procurement leaders and stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in Procurement IT strategy and roadmap development with specific responsibilities for Data Analytics.
  • Collect and analyze detailed analytics requirements both from a business perspective and from a technical perspective.
  • Collaborate with IT Data Architects and Delivery Leads to determine appropriate solutions
  • Act as Business Lead in IT Project delivery for Procurement Data Analytics including:
    • Direct management and support of Business Analyst assigned to the project.
    • Educate and coach the IT project team on business objectives and requirements throughout all phases of the project.
    • Deliver high-quality project charter, statement of requirements and functional specifications.
    • Educate and monitor Procurement project business resources on technical solution and project delivery methods. Guide User Acceptance Testing both from a technical and business process point-of-view.
    • Proactively engage in regular project team meetings, operating committees and steering committees. Seek opportunities to optimize project delivery and resolve challenges.
  • Effectively evaluate, organize, drive focus, organization health, and motivate employees.
  • Grow critical JCI Global purchasing data expertise to enable high quality delivery and efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement and process simplification to optimize efficiency and reduce cost.

What we look for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline
  • 10+ years of solution delivery and large program implementation experience
  • 3-5+ years of IT project Procurement functional and/or data delivery experience
  • Creative and innovative thinker with strong collaborative leadership skills to work in partnership with people relations and senior leadership teams
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of Agile, DevOps and Waterfall project management methodologies with proven track record of successful program and project management and transformative deliverables
  • Strong knowledge of standard data architecture, analytics and reporting
  • Knowledge to build and manage IT - business relationship, facilitation, communication and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to work with large cross-functional teams
  • Ability to identify opportunities for business value and process improvement, communicate strategies, and champion adoption to achieve desired results
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity and adopt values of leadership model in daily management work
  • Excellent knowledge on IT solutions, new technologies and understand technology trends
  • Good mix of technical/IT consulting and business background
  • Positive, collaborative and solution-oriented attitude
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills – ability to navigate technology and organizational issues to complete project tasks
  • Willingness to meet challenges, hardworking and able to work under pressure
  • Experience working in a Global company and delivering IT solutions globally
  • Ability to work effectively with global teams and Shared centers
  • Strong knowledge of either SAP or Oracle purchase-to-pay module
  • Functional knowledge of Global procurement integration with Commercial, Finance, Engineering and Manufacturing Supply Chain processes
  • Knowledge of purchase-to-pay processes including Direct, Indirect and MRO processes
  • Ability to explain technical problems in simple business terms
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment with multiple business and IT groups
  • Willingness to travel globally up to 10%
