Securities Operations Specialist #162095 - Military Veterans

The role encompasses a wide variety of responsibilities in Security Operations alongside potential project involvement. The team provides local and specialised support to the wealth management business in Guernsey. Although core Operational processes (Trade Support, Settlements, and elements of Asset Servicing) have been outsourced, the oversight and control of these functions remains in Guernsey.

The duties will incorporate

* Ensure any SWIFT instructions relating to securities transactions are accurate and processed in accordance with internal benchmarks.

* Coordinate, control and assist colleagues for outsourced functions in the processing of various securities transactions, as advised by our dealers, front office, external contacts or market announcement.

* Perform daily review of Cash and Securities Reconciliations to ensure investigation and clearance within policy guidelines.

* Review, update and adhere to procedures at all times, making recommendations for improvements and amendments as required.

* Adhere to the departmental governance requirements including risk metrics, internal/external meetings, audit and task completion.

* Provide support and testing for the development of IT systems used by the Bank in relation to the Operations functions.

* Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.

* Securities Settlement knowledge across a variety of product types and markets.

* Knowledge of SWIFT/Securities transactions.

* General understanding of corporate actions is desirable.

* Advanced MS Office skills, especially Word and Excel.

* Organised and capable of working both as part of a team as well as on your own initiative towards specific targets and objectives.

* Good at prioritizing multiple significant priorities and assignments

* Ambitious, hardworking, deliver on time with a high level of attention to detail and quality standards
