Overview

This is a unique opportunity to join a tightly knit and high-performing group of industry veterans delivering a world-class automation platform to the luxury home market.

As a leader within the Residential Product Management team you will lead an initiative to deliver advanced lighting products to the high-end home market. These products will offer tight integration with our award-winning Crestron Home automation platform. As the Product Manager of Residential Lighting at Crestron, you will drive the development of advanced lighting fixtures and related products from concept to release in a dynamic, creative, and fast-paced environment. Your responsibilities will include product planning, writing and implementing product requirements, and coordinating with various departments in the company to ensure success.
Responsibilities
  • Perform market research to generate product roadmaps based on customer outreach and competitive research.
  • Establish buy-in for your product visions through demonstrations and presentations with key stakeholders.
  • Author detailed product requirements for Crestron's engineering teams.
  • Work with sales, marketing, and supply chain to manage your products throughout their full lifecycle.
  • Evaluate products and technologies from potential partners and competitors.
  • Work in close concert with Engineering, Supply Chain and partner vendors throughout product development cycle.
  • Work with our Sales team to design and implement live demos in our customer showrooms.
  • Work with our Training and Sales Support teams to develop customer-facing instructional material.
  • Keep abreast of latest technology trends.
  • Participate in industry tradeshows and other key market events.
Qualifications

Ideal Experience & Education:
  • Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree with a minimum of 5 years of product development experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • A strong knowledge of the architectural lighting fixture market in North America is a must.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Digital lighting control protocols such as DALI and DMX512
    • Applications of "tunable" lighting including dynamic color temperature and RGB color
    • Reflected ceiling plans and North American residential construction
    • LED technology when used for general lighting purposes
  • Working knowledge of wired and wireless IP networking.
  • Familiarity with the lighting design and specification process.
  • Experience in short, high-throughput product development cycles.
  • Self-starter with proven ability to constantly learn new software and hardware technologies and an ability to quickly put that learning into practice in support of highly visible real-world projects. Be able to research and become an expert on new technologies relevant to the product line.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to lead team meetings, set expectations, and hold people accountable for delivering the expected product.
  • Team player with visible company spirit. Demonstrable ability to quickly gain the trust of key stakeholders, end-users, and co-workers alike.
