Job Description: SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY invites applications to fill one full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor in Industrial and Interaction Design ( IID ) within the School of Design, College of Visual and Performing Arts. Our five-year program leads to a Bachelor of Industrial Design ( BID ) degree and has consistently been ranked among the best programs nationally. We are seeking a candidate to join a faculty who share a mission to educate a new generation of design professional. We believe graduates must be armed with both a core set of foundational skills as well as a broad understanding of the opportunities and responsibilities afforded by current technological innovations. With a program of approximately 100 students, we seek to educate those who, upon graduation, will be prepared to join the field in a variety of categories ranging from consultancies, in-house and corporate design, to entrepreneurial start-ups. By offering a curriculum that is built upon an expansive foundation of design expertise, we expect graduates of the University to become leaders who are prepared to shape the future of design.
