Must-haves:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
  • Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Experience with aerospace structural design, fabrication, and repair methods for military and/or commercial aircraft
  • Leadership in the design and development of complex and/or large aerospace structures
  • Familiarity with military and commercial aerospace catalog of standards, fasteners, and material properties
  • Proficiency in communication of designs via system design documents, technical design reviews, and informal model spins Proficiency in ASME Y14 drawing standards and practices including the development of “production level” technical data packages (Level 3 TDP)
  • An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred:

  • Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
  • Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Thermal Analysis
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes
  • Experience in the design, fabrication support, and operational support of composite structures in structural and radio frequency (RF) equipment support applications
  • Experience in the thermal analysis and design of aircraft equipment including the consideration and design of Environmental Control System impact and integration and design of forced convection cooling systems
  • Experience in the support of aerospace fabrication and installation activities in an operations liaison role
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity regarding the environmental compatibility of equipment and installations per MIL-STD-810 and/or RTCA DO-160
  • Familiarity with Model Based Definition (MBD) and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $101,774.67 - $139,940.19

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
