About this opportunity

 

An Associate Product Technician works closely with and through technical services senior leadership, sample team and merchants to provide technical expertise and support on a specific product category. This position contributes and evolves training material, trains and mentors the Sample team in regard to their reviewing and checking of merchant samples in terms of fitting, construction etc. This position evaluates risk assessment and quality concerns to ensure compliance to required instructions as they prepare to become and serve as technical services subject matter expert.

 

Responsibilities:


Product Knowledge:

  • Find solutions utilizing product related experiences to improve fit for assigned product category or categories and advise merchants and/or sample team on findings.
  • Collaborate with merchants to gain insight into merchant perspective and knowledge on product, and work with technical services senior management to relay and educate sample team so they understand implications to commercialization and production for assigned product category or categories.

Analysis & Process Development:

  • Conduct analysis of sample tool data and other sources to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies.
  • Make recommendations based on data analysis to provide business insight, improve pre-production processes and solve technical issues related to a specific product category or categories in collaboration with technical services senior leadership.
  • Co-develop and maintain objective product scorecards for vendors and merchants from a technical services perspective in partnership with technical services senior leadership.
  • Create and maintain standard departmental templates.
  • Manage and contribute to the creation and relevancy of product guidelines and standards to improve Ross value proposition for assigned product category or categories and to ensure compliance to required instructions.
  • Communicate to internal and external business partners Ross’s product guidelines and standards via Ross Partners/Ross Connection websites.

Training:

  • Train sample coordinators and merchants for assigned product category on technical issues in partnership with technical services management.
  • Contribute to, format and publish company technical standards and procedures as related to assigned category/categories with guidance from the technical services leadership.
  • Drive expansion of own technical knowledge to advance technical skills.

  • You have experience in apparel
  • You are proficient in Excel and systems savvy

  • You are a team player and have experience working cross-functionally
  • You are a strong communicator both written and verbally
