DeAnza Outpatient Surgery was established in 2016. It offers quality outpatient services to the community as an extension of Riverside Community Hospital’s Perioperative Services. We offer a variety of surgical specialties working with a fast paced, patient centered team approach.

Position Summary: Performs the scrub role as a member of the perioperative team. Assists the surgeon at the sterile field and the registered nurse during the surgical procedure. Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

·         Licensure/Certification/Registration:

o   Certification preferred

o   BCLS

·         Education:

o   High School Diploma, or equivalent.

·         Experience:

o   Completion of a surgical technician program and/or one year experience as a surgical technician.

·         Special Qualifications:

o   Demonstrates knowledge of autoclaves and sterilization modes.

o   Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.

o   Demonstrates knowledge of the use of equipment, instruments, and supplies.

o   Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures and terminology.

o   Has ability to assess the developmental needs of patients from infancy to the elderly and modify care appropriately.
