Job Summary
Performs direct and indirect technical tasks for patients before, during and after surgical interventions under the direction of licensed staff.

Qualifications:
POSITION SUMMARY
Education, including Licensure/ Certification/ Registration
Certification as surgical technologist (CST) is preferred for all new hires; BLS-HCP (the recognized certification provider is determined at the affiliate level).
Graduate of an accredited surgical technologists program or extensive experience as a surgical technologist, such as is usually obtained in approximately 10 years.
Knowledge
Must have demonstrated knowledge of effective English written and communication and basic computer proficiency skills.
Experience
Acute care experience preferred.
Skills
Requires critical thinking skill, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a ever-changing environment and respond appropriately to complex situations.
