Anthem’s Fast Forward-Future of Care team is looking for an innovative, high energy, strategic problem solver to play an integral role in our cross-functional matrixed team as we power Anthem’s future and significantly improve customer experience in the crucial Access to Care journey within our Utilization Management, Care Management and Grievance and Appeal area’s.

We will pursue end-to-end opportunities and leverage exponential technologies that maximize our members’, providers’ and associates’ experiences, improve health outcomes and drive medical cost trend improvement and efficiencies. 

Position Description:

The Business Strategy Planning Director will be responsible for Anthem Reimagine ATC team’s strategy formulation and strategic planning. The role will work hand-in-hand with ATC team members, and will engage a team of cross-functional clinical, digital, provider and data leaders and SMEs to develop and execute the ATC strategic vision. 

Please note: This is not a Project Manager position. This role is responsible for thinking strategically, bringing analytical thought process to strategy formulation, looking at strengths and weaknesses, and ensuring effective solutions and strategies are prioritized, implemented, and measured.

Primary duties to include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with business partners and executive leadership to define the future vision, strategy, and key metrics of success for ATC
  • Bring a market-backed outside-in perspective to develop and inform the strategy. Identify and research perspectives on organizations that deliver best-in-class consumer experience and drive strategic outcomes related to access to care
  • Succinctly and powerfully visualize strategy and use to communicate and collaborate with variety of stakeholders, including executives, peers, partners, delegates, and others as necessary
  • Translate the ATC strategy into executable programs, projects, priorities, timelines, and roadmap
  • Propose opportunities to improve results based on continuous value monitoring and needs assessments
  • Provide guidance on strategic priorities across multiple initiatives and programs to drive the right value at the right time for the right stakeholders 
  • Act as the key point of contact for other teams in Reimagine, Digital and across the enterprise to partner together to ensure alignment of the ATC strategy to their respective strategies
  • Serve as a thought partner to the ATC leads

Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field; 10 years of leadership/management experience in healthcare business; experience in strategic and analytical thinking, including developing a strategic plan with corresponding tactical plans; planning and/or consulting experience; strong leadership skills in matrixed environment; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.  Advanced skills in PowerPoint and highly proficient in Excel. Master’s degree preferred. Ability to travel ~25%.
