Title: Senior Software Platform Engineering Manager - Digital Banking

Locations: {Omaha, NE, Denver CO or Atlanta, GA}

NCR provides a digital banking platform containing a comprehensive set of digital banking services that is accessible anytime, anywhere, from any device. Our solution gives financial institutions the flexibility and control to engage more deeply with customers, increase retention, and cross-sell effectively. Our clients are leading the way in which digital banking is personalized and delivered to end users.

Responsibilities
  • In conjunction with the NCR Architecture team, lead the definition and development of the architectural and technological constructs within the NCR Digital First Banking Platform including:
    • Software Development Kits (SDKs)
    • Development Frameworks (e.g. React, React Native, etc.)
    • API Management (e.g. Apigee)
    • Third party software library management
    • Core capabilities such as authentication, alerting, eventing, logging, etc.
  • Define/refine a scalable tailoring model for NCR digital banking platform clients that allows them to differentiate their implementation of the platform while still ensuring the ability to easily stay current with new releases of the NCR platform
  • Lead the definition and creation of common business capabilities that can be leveraged across NCR's and our client's engineering teams
  • Manage large software development efforts and cross-functional scrum teams
  • Facilitate Joint Application Design Sessions, Scrum Planning Sessions, Daily Stand-ups, etc.
  • Collaborate with product owners and scrum coaches to achieve well defined release plans
  • Define software development standards and engineering disciplines
  • Provide leadership in implementing and enforcing industry best practices for software development
  • Define and implement best practices for addressing all nonfunctional aspects of largescale software platforms including:
    • Performance
    • Security
    • Availability
    • Scalability
    • Reliability
  • Incorporate the Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline into all aspects of the engineering process
  • Evaluate and communicate project risks in an appropriate and timely manner to stakeholders
  • Foster continuous improvement using tools and engineering metrics
  • Hire and on-board new personnel - support staff development
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coach and counsel team members
  • Provide an environment where engineering innovation and continuous learning can thrive and team commitment flourishes
  • Develop a culture that encourages excellence and high job satisfaction
Ideal Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years proven track record of technical expertise in software engineering
  • 10+ years in software development leadership capacity
  • Knowledge of the NCR architectural and technological tenets (API first, cloud native, microservice based, data driven, event driven, etc)
  • Extensive experience with enterprise software platforms and a thorough understanding of largescale system nonfunctional characteristics (e.g. performance, scalability, availability, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the NCR core platform technologies (JAVA Spring, React, React Native, iOS/Android, etc.)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong resource planning and management skills
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills
  • Strong leadership
