McKesson's Privacy Office has an enterprise-wide, global privacy program that will provide leadership in both the risk management and strategic opportunity aspects of data privacy. We want experienced privacy professionals who think strategically, execute tactically and build relationships with business partners in a collaborative environment.

The Director of Privacy will report to and work with the Vice President, Privacy to support key initiatives and provide oversight for a variety of privacy projects led by the Privacy Office, particularly in the EU and Canada.

The Director also will work closely with other members of the Privacy Office, Information Security Risk Management, IT, Human Resources, Internal Audit, senior business leaders, and the Law department to drive privacy innovation, share leading practices/trends/thought leadership, and identify privacy opportunities and needs at McKesson.

The Privacy Director will operate with minimal supervision while serving as a key privacy resource to the business and will be responsible for:
  • Providing guidance on corporate initiatives that result in the processing of EU and Canadian personal data.
  • Supporting stakeholders in conducting Privacy Impact Assessments and related activities including privacy risk analysis and mitigation.
  • Working cross-functionally with stakeholders to ensure effective processes and compliance.
  • Monitoring internal controls, audits, oversees assessment and mitigation activities.
  • Managing programmatic tools, templates and resources used in support of data processing activities and serve as a liaison for stakeholders using the same.
  • Managing and enhancing Privacy-By-Design efforts.
  • Promoting activities to foster privacy and data protection awareness within the organization and related entities.
  • Advising on complex data protection best practices through consistent analysis, feedback, and follow-through with internal business partners and stakeholders
  • Representing the team in day-to-day activities

  • Seven or more years of progressively increasing responsibility and experience in privacy compliance programs
  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills, including the ability to communicate to all organizational levels
  • Ability to operate with minimal direction, using excellent judgment and professionalism to resolve issues and develop solutions, while juggling multiple priorities
  • Ability to draft policy documents and translate regulatory requirements into practical and actionable elements
  • Strong project management skills
  • Extremely organized

Additional Preferred Knowledge & Skills
  • Experience in a large, decentralized, multi-national company
  • Experience with managing data protection risks involving international data processing and/or transfers
  • Experience in healthcare, technology, business, or legal background
  • Experience and mastery of modern office technology, including Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams), web-based applications such as WebEx, and remote access systems.

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • CIPP certification desired
