We are looking for a Product Marketing Manager to join the Product Marketing team within our Marketing division. In this role, you will be responsible for determining how our athenaOne value proposition is expressed to key specialties and will contribute to aligning the marketing and commercial organizations around a point of view on specialty requirements and our support of them. The Product Marketing Manager for athenaOne Specialties will also be responsible for applying deep buyer insights to build specialty-specific positioning and messaging and provide perspective on which athenaOne roadmap items are relevant to key specialties (Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, OBGYN, and more as well as FQHCs). Finally, you will devise how the Go-To-Market strategy and architecture for Platform Services, the industry leading mobile medical decision support tool, will be expressed to the marketplace and contribute to building the market requirements and competitive analysis to fuel innovation.

You have an understanding of the commercial buyer target audience and how this audience buys and applies this insight to inform campaigns, content, and enablement, while also thinking through the clinical and administrative end-user experience. You are able to execute on product marketing strategies while working to ensure the coordination of marketing execution activities, and making sure sales channels have the information they need to sell our key specialties. You are experienced with driving new revenue as well as developing the messaging and content to support marketing programs. You can work to draw on and partner with multiple stakeholders from a perspective and approach standpoint to find optimal solutions.

The Team: The Product Marketing team is responsible for developing and executing athenahealth's commercial go-to-market strategy. Product Marketers strive to understand their customers and their markets to develop positioning and value propositions that resonate. Product Marketing acts as the storytellers of athenahealth, sharing knowledge about our solutions and services with both external and internal audiences to drive business results. Product Marketing collaborates with teams across athenahealth to break down barriers and ensure that commercial teams have the knowledge they need to inform buyers as well as the compelling content and tools necessary to create demand and win new business.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for building the commercial GTM strategy and architecture for how offerings will be expressed to the marketplace. Will determine the market requirements and competitive analysis to fuel innovation.
  • The product marketing manager develops and curates applicable buyer personas. This information informs campaigns, content and innovation. You will apply your exceptional skills and techniques to segment, size and gain alignment on the buyer audiences to target.
  • Craft effective specialty-centric messaging and value propositions.
  • In partnership with the Enablement team, you will enable the commercial teams to sell more via knowledge transfer, content and programs that increase sales productivity within the offering portfolio.
  • Incubate or improve the go-to-market workflow process for bringing new or existing offerings to market. You are responsible for driving clarity of roles and alignment between marketing, product management and business units.

Typical Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Degree in business, marketing, and or communications preferred
  • 7+ years professional experience in a business-to-business or business-to-consumer environments. Healthcare and/or mobile industry experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience working with sales teams and supporting programs to drive awareness and sales support
  • Experience with understanding how planning processes must align with both business unit and corporate strategic objectives.
  • Experience with leading efforts around creating market requirements documents that work to describe relevant buyer needs, market insights and trends, and competitive priorities
  • Ability to build value propositions that demonstrates how the offering resolves buyer needs.
