University of the Sciences (USciences) has an immediate need for a qualified candidate for the position of Director, Central Plant and Utilities Operations. The Director of the Central Plant and Utility Operations will maintain the University's MEP systems including HVAC operations, boiler plants, and utility distribution systems. Provide oversight of assigned staff including but not limited to central plant engineers, electricians, and HVAC mechanics to ensure proper and safe operation of the University's MEP and utility systems. Perform and oversee maintenance and repair activities to provide continuous service, maximum efficiency, and minimal equipment failure. Maintain all equipment in accordance with applicable codes and best practices.
This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Facilities. Responsible for preparing facilities related energy consumption and cost reports for distribution. Maintains oversight of all mechanical and utility based outside contractors.

Primary Responsibilities
Develop and maintain processes and procedures for the operation, maintenance, and repair of all University mechanical, electrical, boiler plant, and utility distribution systems.
Manage contractors, power plant mechanics, electricians, and HVAC mechanics.
Develop and manage a comprehensive water chemical test and treatment program for the University mechanical, heating, and cooling systems.
Maintain all relevant records, logs and manuals for efficient operation, recordkeeping, and regulatory requirements.
Develop and maintain MEP and utility design standards for efficient and sustainable operations.
Ensure assigned personal maintain all code required credentials or licenses.
Work with the designated energy procurement vendor to secure future energy needs for the University.
Develop and manage the demand response and load shedding operational programs for the campus.
Manage the campus Building Automation Systems network including immediate and long term needs.
Maintain emergency generator and data logs including routine preventive and service repairs.
Perform inspections and record keeping as required by the University spill prevention, control, and countermeasure program
Manage and oversee facilities related emergency response activities when required.
Performs related work as requested.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and expertise in relevant areas such as architecture, engineering, facility management, or building science.
A minimum of 10 years of facilities experience in a higher education, healthcare, or related corporate facilities environment with significant experience in a leadership position.
Experience in budget preparation and fiscal management.
Possesses well developed planning and strategic planning skills.
An ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently.
A polished, diplomatic, and flexible management style that is hands-on, fair and sets high expectations.
An ethic of customer service with a proactive, team-oriented approach to both internal and external customers.
The finalist will be required to successfully pass a background check.
