Position Overview:

Under the supervision of the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery physicians, this position supports the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Service. Principal responsibilities include assessing and managing the medical care of patients in collaboration with the physician. The incumbent will also communicate with other consulting physicians, nursing, case management, ancillary staff, as well as, patients and their families to ensure the continuity and coordination of care. This position also serves as a clinical resource and actively participates in the Trauma ACS Program clinical quality and education initiatives.


Education required for this position:

  • Master's degree in Nursing
  • California Register Nurse license
  • Nurse Practitioner license
  • Nurse Practitioner Furnishing and DEA numbers
  • Acute Care nurse Practitioner ACNP or Adult Gerontology Acute care Nurse Practitioner AG-ACNP
  • Basic Life Support Certification - BLS
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS


  • Minimum of five years of RN experience in critical care or emergency nursing
  • Experience in trauma, acute care.

Skills and knowledge:

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with individuals of diverse background and experience to create an effective working climate.
