Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Liaison Test Engineer to join our 2nd shift B-2 team of qualified, diverse individuals.
The selected candidate will become part of the Liaison Engineering team within the Systems Integration, Test and Evaluation (SIT&E) IPT located in Palmdale, CA.
As a B-2 Principle Liaison Test Engineer 3, your responsibilities include:
• You will be a member of a multi-disciplined team responsible for providing liaison engineering support for Special Projects.
• You will be working with subsystems installations and composite structures
• You will be performing timely dispositions for nonconforming parts, assemblies, and installations.
• You will be working as part of a Material Review Board (MRB)
• You will be working with a team of engineers coordinating with multiple disciplines to determine solutions to problems quickly and efficiently.

Individual will be required to:
• Serve as either a principal subject matter focal point between maintenance, design engineering, and test site team.
• Be able to work under only general direction to determine and develop approaches to solutions
• Be able to work both within a team environment and independently
• Be self-motivated, thorough, and detailed
• Be willing to learn additional engineering discipline areas.

Travel may be required.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • A Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or equivalent from and accredited university.
  • 5 Years experience with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • DoD, Secret clearance, in scope within the last 5 yrs. and capable of obtaining and maintaining special program access within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Overtime, odd shifts, and weekend work will occasionally be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Masters' degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or equivalent from and accredited university.
  • Full life cycle of air vehicle design support process
  • Active MRB authority
  • In depth knowledge of or flight test experience, to include control room monitoring, in one of the following disciplines: Payloads, Mission Systems, or Subsystems.
B-2 Program Security Requirements:
  • Candidate must have an active DoD Secret and a background investigation within the scope of six years.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain all required security clearances and program specific accesses.
