Overview

Manages Information Security Engineering Team. Primarily responsible for safeguarding information system assets from intentional or inadvertent disclosure, modification, disruption, or destruction. Contributes / Co-Develops and executes security policies and standards, access control systems, virus protection, incident response handling, and operational security activities throughout the corporate enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Protects computer assets by developing security strategies; directing system control development and access management, monitoring, control, and evaluation.
• Establish and install key controls on departmental communication equipment and property access. Manage processes for protecting classified, proprietary, and sensitive information.
• Establishes procedures and automated processes to monitor the status of computers and networks to respond quickly to determine the cause and deal with any threat. Analyze reports generated by the monitoring system to identify trends that might indicate a future risk.
• Manages security engineering team members.
• Advises senior management by identifying critical security issues; recommending risk-reduction solutions.
• Accomplishes system security and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
• Maintain and update a property loss and prevention program. Discover source of security breach.
• Evaluate incidents and determine course of action. Report and track all incidents.
• Establishes system safeguards by directing disaster preparedness development; conducting preparedness tests.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education/Learning Experience
• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience
• Desired: CISSP, Technical Certifications in the field of Information Security.
• Work Experience
• Required: 5+ years’ experience with managing and leading security initiatives, monitoring, reporting, and assessing risk; operational security duties such as incident response, system engineering, and security platform lifecycle administration. Familiar with HIPAA and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
• Desired: Hands on experience with information security technical standards development, implementation and security assessments.
• Skills/Knowledge
• Required: Experience managing and leading Security projects in a mixed platform environment; Advanced systems administration experience; experience with Firewalls and Intrusion Detection/Prevention systems.
• Required: Working knowledge of MS office applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.
• Required: Advanced Troubleshooting knowledge to resolve complex, multi-system incidents with minimal supervision.
• Desired: Experience in a large enterprise environment with SOX Controls, HIPAA, and HITECH
• Desired: Security administration experience in Microsoft Windows Active Directory, Security Event Incident Monitoring (SIEM) platforms, Identity And Access Management Platforms, and at least one cloud platform such as Azure Active Directory, AWS Console, or Google Gsuite Cloud.
