Job Summary

Amentum is looking for a highly skilled and experienced spectrum manager to support the global mission requirements of the United States Navy. The global dependence on systems using the electromagnetic spectrum is increasing which drives congestion of that environment. The position requires a candidate that can use a strong foundation in spectrum to manage the wide variety of systems used by the Navy and their associated spectrum requirements. The work will focus on specifically on the development and implementation of a new coordination process to support deconfliction with commercial entities that will be sharing spectrum with the Department of the Navy. The technical work will include the analysis of technical data for communication equipment/systems, radar systems, passive and active sensors, Electronic Attack, Electronic Warfare, and other systems, submitted through the coordination chain to eliminate conflicts in frequency assignments. Knowledge of radio equipment, radio propagation characteristics, and spectrum reallocation will aid in the review and coordination at the National or International level, as required. The position will provide the selected candidate with an experience that is unique through the chance to work with systems utilizing the entirety of the radio-frequency spectrum from direct current to daylight. The Senior-level spectrum manager works with minimal oversight in the coordination with appropriate federal, nonfederal, military and other government officials. They will proactively address concerns submitted through the frequency deconfliction chain and will support education, outreach, and policy review and development as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduate of the Inter-service Radio Frequency Management School (IRFMS) or the Army Spectrum Management Course, with 10+ years of experience working within spectrum management. Or an Associates degree and 10+ years of experience in spectrum management.
  • Requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance..

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the either the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) or the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) system frequency assignment process
  • Knowledge of any of the following software's: Spectrum Certification System (SCS), Equipment Location Certification Information database (EL-CID), Spectrum XXI, Host Nation Spectrum Worldwide Database Online (HNSWDO), or Stepston
  • Experience submitting Government Master File (GMF) assignment
  • Experience coordinating with national level spectrum management offices like Army Spectrum Management Office, Air Force Spectrum Management Office, or FAA
