Skyborg Acquisition Program Manager

Job Description

By joining KBR you will part of Air Force's Skyborg program. Skyborg is an autonomy-focused capability that will enable the Air Force to operate and sustain low-cost, teamed aircraft that can thwart adversaries with quick, decisive actions in contested environments. The aim of the Skyborg Vanguard program is to integrate autonomous attritable unmanned air vehicle (UAV) technology with open missions systems to enable manned-unmanned teaming. This position requires an Acquisition Program Manager to manage and execute the Skyborg System Design Agent (SDA) contract to develop and demonstrate autonomy technologies that will enable various AF mission sets.


Role and Responsibilities: This position supports AFRL/RS and AFLCMC/WA in the execution of the SDA contract.   The applicant should have a DoD Acquisition Program Management background, understands how to execute agile programs, can develop acquisition program documentations from scratch, and has a broad and diverse skillset to run this program. The candidate will help transition this program from it's Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) experimentation/prototype phase to an Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Fighter and Advanced Aircraft (AFLCMC/WA) program. Having knowledge of AFRL and AFLCMC programs is preferred, and experience with developing and fielding rapid and agile programs is highly desired for this person to be successful. The selected candidate should be a self-starter, who understands the acquisition landscape and knows how to solve complex problems and communicate effectively with Air Force senior leaders. Experience with autonomy is highly desired. This person should also know how to manage an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.  An engineering/technical degree is desired.  Advanced degree is desired. APDP PM Level I is desired, APDP Level II is preferred.

Experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  A minimum of seven (7) years of related experience is required. 

Clearance: Current Top Secret (TS) with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility is required. 

Applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
