The EO Electronics Department is seeking an Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) with responsibilities for successful execution of technical scope on programs based in McKinney, TX. Successful leadership will have significant impact, visibility, and/or growth potential within the organization and business with demonstrated and sustained successful performance. The IPTL shall be capable of developing technical baseline and lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to design, create, test and deliver fully compliant products to our customers within the budget and schedule milestones. The IPTL will employ excellent written and verbal communication skill sets to ensure actionable information and direction is provided to a variety of engineers as well as organizational and customer partners including Principal Investigators (PI), Chief Engineers (CE), Program Managers, Functional Managers, other IPTLs and team contributors. The IPTL will be responsible for multiple programs/tasks, execution metrics reporting and comprehension, Earned Value Management while also engaging effectively with the technical team: design engineers, technicians and Fellows. The IPTL will also be responsible for achieving schedule milestones on-time and within allotted budget while managing talented teams. The IPTL is expected to resolve technical issues within their domain(s) of expertise and help teams in overcoming issues that impede program progress, allowing core staff to concentrate on their given Work Products. This position will be responsible for generating financial Estimate at Complete (EAC), supporting program Gate reviews, and facilitate self-guided Peer reviews of all Work Products. They will also participate in new business activities including proposals, preparing bids, and developing the basis of estimate for core work scope. This position will require the IPTL to guide multiple programs/activities at any time.
In addition, this position may be asked to lead current research and development efforts. The IPTL shall act independently, guided only by very broad company policies and goals. The IPTL shall be able to apply advanced technical principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems (especially related to electronics, firmware and systems products), which requires coordination of technologies across program requirements. The IPTL shall lead briefings and technical meetings for internal and external stakeholders / customers.

Required Skills:
Minimum 8 yrs of experience participating in the design development, integration/test, and sell-off of complex EO/IR Electronics Systems and Sub-Systems.

  • Leadership experience providing full-scope of CCA Design and FPGA development solutions, spanning architecture trades, design, development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of EO/IR Systems
  • Experience with working proposals and developing technical baselines for new business
  • Independent Product Technical Lead (IPTL), BOEs
  • Hardware Architecture Development, Knowledge of Work Product Development Cycles
  • Hands-on experience in testing of products using logic analyzer, high-speed oscilloscopes, signal generators, and FPGA debugging tools
  • Ability to handle fast pace and dynamic product development environment
  • Excellent team player with good interpersonal skills as well as excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications as well as requirements management tools
  • Ability to work self - guided and manage priorities on multiple tasks as well as provide technical guidance
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
Desired Skills:
Minimum 6 yrs of experience with FPGA design implementation/verification with VHDL design language

  • Experience with software configuration management (SCM) tools such as Git & Subversion
  • Sensor and Read Out IC Engineering experience
  • Background in Non Uniformity Correction
  • Image Processing of Color and Monochrome sensor data
  • Background in Video Trackers
  • Digital Circuit Design experience
  • Experience designing FPGAs with Embedded Microprocessors
  • Image Processing Algorithm & MATLAB experience
  • Technical Leadership and/or project management
  • Basis of Estimate (BOE) generation for firmware development, simulation, integration and test work scope

Required Education:

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline

Desired Education:

MS degree in Electrical Engineering or other related field is preferred
