Job Summary

Provides technical and service-related support on a range of technologies in one or more of the following information technology areas: system administration, network support, Mac OS and Windows operating system support, systems design and/or implementation or user/client services, at the Gogue Performing Arts Center at Auburn University.

Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:

- Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
- Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
- Assistance with special projects
- Seasonal work
- Emergencies

Essential Functions

1. Provides technical design, implementation, maintenance, system administration and support of hardware, software, network and/or instructional technology.

2. Provides end-user support on information technology issues through consultation and advising, problem identification and resolution, training and preparation/maintenance of documentation.

3. Participates in projects and cross-functional activities related to information technology initiatives or processes such as implementation of Microsoft Teams and Smartsheet.

4.May provide on-call support for designated systems or services.

5. Other duties as assigned

    Auburn University was established in 1856 as the East Alabama Male College, 20 years after the city of Auburn's founding. In 1872, under the Morrill Act, the school became the first land-grant college in the South and was renamed the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama. In 1899 the name again was changed, to the Alabama Polytechnic Institute. Finally, in 1960 the name of the school was changed to Auburn University, a title more in keeping with its location, and expressing the varied academic programs and larger curriculum of a major university.
