Overview

Responsible for specialized case management to manage the needs of a variety of participants within targeted populations identified by funder or agencies acting as its representatives as needing Career Center support. Responsible for acting as a liaison between Career Center and local agency representatives to include funder, career coaches from other centers, employers, and others.

Responsibilities

• Attends meetings remotely or in person with various agency representatives, employers and general population
• Creates, reconciles and validates reports as these pertain to each project
• Creates and maintains files for participants who may not be enrolled in the program and other contracted programs located within the Center
• Tracks attendance and attends to supportive services needs for participants as assigned (those who may not be referred to the Center)
• Acts as troubleshooter for special projects participants to resolve challenges/barriers that arise at worksites, etc., and/or in classrooms
• Conducts at-site Temporary Work Experience monitoring
• Completes timesheets as needed and works with funder’s HR department to ensure participants are paid on time
• Maintains separate payroll/time-tracking tools for each special project for staff and participants
• Compiles statistics as directed for special projects participants and prepares reports as required
• Assists with internal/external audits, particularly as these relate to special projects participants
• Assists with other career coach tasks as needed
• Actively manages the cases in all systems and through frequent and regular contact with caseload.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with or demonstrated ability to learn OSMIS, LaunchPad, and other MI Works and Equus systems
• Comfortable presenting/training in front of groups and online for those participating in projects, such as Temporary Work Experience and others
• General experience working with inner-city population a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Able to multi-task and meet deadlines with close turn-around times and/or hard deadlines
• Able to work well under pressure
• Able to work with more than a single manager or leader giving directions with varying deadlines
• Creative/Inventive as needs arise for planning workload or segments of assignments
• Strong communicator who is able to work well with leaders, co-workers, funder reps, employers, etc.
• Strong organizational skills
• Willing to perform job responsibilities without supervision at local agencies or employer sites as needed
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Willing to train, learn and take other caseloads if needed
