Under the Supervision of the Sterile Processing Manager, The Sterile Processing Tech performs complete and thorough decontamination, along with knowledge of processing of reusable instrumentation and patient care equipment. Has knowledge of aseptic technique.  Performs functional and safety inspections, assembles and disassembles orthopedic traction equipment and other equipment used in patient care areas.  Complies with departmental policies, abides by sanitation, safety, housekeeping and infection control.  Observes and reports any unusual conditions and will articipates in product recalls. Position: Sterile Processing Technician
Shift: Full Time 2nd and 3rd shifts

1. Experience in instrument processing preferred
2. Must accurately interpret sterilization records and indicators to ensure sterility of equipment


1. High School Graduate or Equivelent 
2. Successful completion of a nationally accredited central service exam for central service techs 
3. Must complete 10 hours of qualifying continuing education annually.

Certified registered central service technician credential (CRCST) or certified sterile processing and distribution technician credential (CSPDT), required. Provisional hires will have 12 months to obtain certification.
