As a Float Pool RN you will use your acute care experience to deliver professional nursing care to a diverse patient population within our ICU, PCU, and Medical Surgical units. Under the supervision of the director/manager or designee, the registered nurse provides holistic, individualized patient care in response to identified needs of the general medical patient. Additional functions will be performed in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the organization.

• You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient, following standards of care and disease specific protocols.
• You will plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• You will provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN’s scope of practice and in accordance with established policies.
• You will provide education and emotional support appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance and incorporate patient / family teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.

 

Medical City Fort Worth is a 348-bed facility offering comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services in a wide range of specialties including 24-hour emergency services, heart and vascular care, brain and spine services, kidney transplant, orthopedic care, cancer services, and bariatric treatment. Located in the heart of the medical district, Medical City Fort Worth is a designated Comprehensive Stroke Center, a Joint Commission-certified chest pain center, and Magnet hospital for nursing excellence.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associates (ADN) required

  • Bachelor's (BSN) preferred, enrollment in BSN program may be required

License / Certification:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of TX or compact license (if compact, TX required within 30 days of hire)

  • BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross

  • Advanced Nursing Certification preferred, or obtained within 12 months of employment
  • Specialty certification preferred

Experience:

  • 2 years ICU experience preferred
