Requisition Number: S_180123 Department: University Police-0823 Description of Work: Promote lawful behavior and protect the welfare of students, faculty and staff as a uniformed presence on campus. Perform foot and vehicle patrols of the campus to monitor behavior, secure buildings and property, investigate disturbances, maintain order during events and enforce regulations. Monitor the physical safety of campus buildings by locking and unlocking doors, patrolling or monitoring using surveillance systems, and reporting suspicious behavior. Handle minor calls for assistance as assigned or until commissioned personnel are available. Provide security as necessary for University related special events. Availability for work must be conducive to our responsibility for 24 hour coverage. This includes but is not limited to the ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, mandatory overtime, and special events. Shifts are primarily overnight, but certain events will call for some daytime hours. Compensation includes shift differential, when applicable.
