Requisition Number: S_200534 Department: Agronomy & Horticulture-0827 Description of Work: The major responsibilities of this position are those of management, operation, and maintenance of wheat, barley, and triticale research conducted in greenhouses, growth chambers, and laboratories. Responsible for computer input and statistical analyses of the breeding projects. Responsible for greenhouse efficiency by coordinating and managing the practices, mechanization, and computerization. Assist with field program at a level where the complete field operation continues if the main field technologist is not available. CDL and pesticide applicator’s license required within 6 months of employment. Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in agriculture or related field plus two years of experience in plant biology, farming, or agronomy. Knowledge of plant growth and development of winter small grains and crossing procedures. Knowledge of safe laboratory and field operation procedures. Ability to move and use plot equipment. Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree preferred. Knowledge of University personnel and fiscal procedures helpful. Knowledge of disease identification and scoring and genetics preferred. Knowledge of computers and various specialized software programs desirable. Posted Salary: $40,000/yr. minimum Job Type: Full-Time
