Qualifications:
- AA degree in Respiratory Therapy.
- Certification of Registration by the National Board for Respiratory Therapy (RRT) or National Society for Cardiopulmonary Technologist.
- Clinical/Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification issued by the American Heart Association is required.
- Minimum two (2) years experience in Respiratory Care following completion of AMA program.
- Training in Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
- Strongly recommend participation in state and/or national Pulmonary Rehab organization.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, chemistry and physics.
- In-depth knowledge of pulmonary mechanics and Patient Education in the pulmonary system.
- Knowledge of applicable regulations and guidelines in all areas of respiratory therapy and cardiopulmonary.
- Awareness of available transition and outpatient support programs offered to patients with respiratory conditions.
- Familiarity with hospital organizational structure and operations and experience in dealing with hospital staff and physicians.
- Understanding of key risk factors for readmission and methods of supporting the individual patient to reduce this risk.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and leadership capabilities
- Adept in program development and public relations.
