As the Director of Cardiovascular Services you will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer, have 24-hour accountability for the clinical practice of nursing and the delivery of patient care within Cardiovascular Services (Cath Lab, EP Lab, Day Patient and Pre-Admit). This includes the identification and demonstration of abilities to meet special needs and consideration for age specific populations.  You will have be responsible for the  management of human, fiscal, and other resources, development of personnel, compliance with regulatory and professional standards, strategic planning, and fostering of collaborative relationships.

  • You will oversee the administrative functioning of the Perioperative Services Department.
  • You will collaborate with Human Resources hires and direct departmental staff in the performance of their duties.
  • You will demonstrate awareness of and commitment to the business and fiscal aspects of Heart Hospital of Austin. 
  • You will take responsibility for improving work processes and eliminating unnecessary activities.
  • You will actively pursue learning and self-development to meet career goals while supporting the Partnership’s Mission, Values, Vision, and Codes of Conduct

Qualifications

Experience:
  • 1 – 3 years: Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory position:  Required
  • Three to five years supervisory experience in Surgical Services with multiple disciplines/departments:  Preferred
Education
  • BSN OR with a Bachelor’s in a related field OR 5 year’s related experience:  Required
  • Master’s in Nursing or related field:  Preferred

Licensure / Certifications

  • Registered Nurse with current state licensure or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact:  Required upon Hired or if Compact within 90 days
  • BLS and ACLS per St. David’s Healthcare Policy:  Required
  • Certification in Perioperative Nursing:  Preferred
