Duties to Include, but are not limited to:


  • Greet patients arriving in clinic
  • Interview patient to obtain medical information
  • Measure patient vital signs, weight, and height
  • Prepare the patient for exam by the physician
  • Obtain pertinent information for patient chart, including lab data, previous hospital records, and records from referring physicians
  • Document and record vital information in the patient's EMR including patient history, vital signs, and lab tests.
  • Assist the RN or physician in explaining treatment, procedures, medications, diets and instructions to patients.
  • Assist the RN or physician in the appropriate tasks to follow each patient throughout the process of starting treatment, during treatment, and for follow up.
  • Assist physician with examining patients.
  • Under the direction of RN and/or physician communicate drug refill authorizations and prescription information to pharmacies
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
  • Stock and maintain cleanliness of exam rooms.
  • Assist in scheduling the patients for procedures and outside referrals
  • Perform general office duties such as answering telephones, scanning, etc
  • Work effectively as a team member
  • Assist in identifying, analyzing and resolving problems involving patient-related issues.



Position Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in a doctor's office or outpatient setting performing Medical Assistant duties.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must be neat and well-groomed and have a courteous, pleasant manner
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe working environment
  • Demonstrated communication skills and clinical expertise in ensuring all patients receive high quality, efficient care
  • Skill in assisting in a variety of procedures and treatments as necessary
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, coworkers, and the public.
  • Must be well organized and detail-oriented, able to multi-task and work well with a diverse group of people.
  • Complete and pass competency testing within 90 days of employment.
  • Effective communication and interact effectively with patient, providers and other colleagues
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy appropriate to situation
  • Requires access to confidential and sensitive information, requiring ongoing discretion and secure information management.
  • Knowledge of computer skills.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is preferred.
