Job Description:

The Technical Writer position will be responsible for planning, developing, organizing, writing and editing technical literature related to emergency management and continuity of operations.

Responsibilities include:
  • Plan, develop, organize, write and edit concept and operational policy papers, guidance documents, procedures, brochures, manuals, training slides, and exercise documents;
  • Research, develop and document technical design specifications and test scripts. Adhere to client template requirements.
  • Produce electronic documentation in addition to hard copy manuals;
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation;
  • Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content;
  • Manage updates and revisions to client literature;
  • Ensure Section 508 compliance.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years proven experience with technical writing for government clients;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Highly proficient in MS Office;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences;
  • Experience in emergency management or continuity of operations preferred;
  • Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking.
  • Possess or obtain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
