Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Senior/Principal Contracts Administrator to join our Contracts team in supporting the Maritime Systems & Integration Business Unit in Linthicum, MD. This is a full-time position estimated to require a minimum amount of in-office time and approximately 80% time working from your remote location into mid-2021; and flexibility to support our evolving business needs in late 2021 and beyond. Occasional travel to customer sites is required and estimated at 10%.
Roles and Responsibilities include:
- Assume a key leadership role in administering large Firm Fixed Price (FFP) development, integration and production type contracts involving dynamic customer engagement, contract performance execution with rigorous attention to contract requirements, compliance, funding, program schedules and contract deliverables.
- Serve in lead role in proposal development supporting new business strategies, identifying, analyzing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, supporting customer discussions and contract negotiations. Review and analyze RFPs & amendments to understand contract requirements and provide direction to capture team and business unit management.
- Provide advice on a wide range of contractual and business related matters involving interpretation of government regulations, application of company contracts policies and procedures, constructing favorable contract terms and conditions, developing negotiation strategies in close collaboration with business unit objectives, compiling and analyzing report data, and maintaining historical contract information in support of sector and corporate requirements.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
To qualify for this position:
- Principal Contract Administrator (Band 3): Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 6 years previous experience in contracts, subcontracts, finance, or other business management related function; or a Master's degree or JD with a minimum of 4 years previous experience in contracts, subcontracts, finance, or other business management related function.
- Senior Principal Contract Administrator (Band 4): Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 10 years previous experience in contracts, subcontracts, finance, or other business management related function; or a Master's degree or JD with a minimum of 8 years previous experience in contracts, subcontracts, finance, or other business management related function.
- Must possess ability to provide advice on a wide range of contractual and business related matters including proposal strategy, estimating & pricing, audits, contract formation and customer relationships
- Demonstrated ability to protect the contract baseline with diligent attention to managing contract change activities
- Experience with problem solving, risk assessment and strategy
- Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Knowledge of the FAR, DFAR and other U.S. Federal Government contracting regulations
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word
- Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency and experience supporting sole source and competitive acquisitions
- Strong working knowledge of the FAR, DFAR and other U.S. Federal Government contracting regulations
- Demonstrated experience administering complex FFP development, integration and production contracts
- Familiarity with Northrop Grumman businesses, policies and practices
- Strong interpersonal skill
