This position is on the Enablement Products team within the IMS business unit.__ The Flight Deck Routers VSL will set the road map and execution for a line of products and services at Collins designed to support our IMS, Avionics, and Collins router needs for flight deck applications and end users.__ The role will also integrate with the overall routers product line activities to ensure optimal alignment of technologies and investments.

Primary responsibilities for Flight Deck Router VSL role:

  • Accountable for full product life cycle value stream of relevant products/services: pursuit to order capture, design and development, produce/implement to deliver, service and support, and retirement.
  • Accountable for strategic and financial planning for responsible products/services.
  • Develop and maintain a product road map that defines feature development and investment that integrates with the strategic long range plan and takes into consideration the near term and long term router needs of IMS, Avionics, and Collins.
  • Work with Value Stream Leaders, Marketing, Program Management, Engineering, Sales, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure program success.
  • Will require managing investment for new products/services and/or additional features for existing products/services.
  • May prepare pursuit and order capture strategies including most important requirements, competitive face-off, customer contact plans and related action planning.
  • Visit customers and work with customer facing roles (Sales, Program Managers) to understand value of products/services in the market and drive changes in Collins router portfolio to meet market needs.
  • Actively engage in relevant industry events.
  • Work with Engineering to drive technology engagement that is relevant to the product line roadmaps. Track market and technology developments that impact our product/service lines.
  • Maintain a firm understanding of the competitive position of the responsible products/services within the market.

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor___s degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience.__ In the absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident ___Green Card___ holder

Preferred Qualifications:

  • This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated via frequent interactions with internal and external groups including customers, suppliers, marketing, engineering and operations.
  • This position also requires strong leadership and team building skills.__ A qualified candidate must be able to lead and motivate cross functional teams as well as have proven experience in supervising teams and interfacing successfully across organizational boundaries.
  • PMP certification and/or MBA degree preferred.
