What you will do

Under general supervision, conducts preventive maintenance,repair, installation, and commissioning and general servicing of HVACAutomation Systems (including detailed troubleshooting of systems). Responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on site,customer interface. Mentors mechanical technicians on building automationactivities. Properly completes required project and service documentation.

How you will do it

1. Diagnoses and repairs complex electroniccontrol system malfunction's requiring extensive knowledge of a variety ofelectronic or digital controls systems and ability to test and writemodifications in multiple languages of systems software.

2. Provides sketches of field changes anddiscrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings.

3. Communicates with customer upon arrivaland before leaving the work site. Ensures high levels of customersatisfaction. Meets regularly with customer to become familiar with operatingproblems. Keeps customer informed on the nature of service providedoutstanding issues and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and orrepairs. Promotes the sale of add-on work.

4. Manages assigned work to meetprofessional execution, of time and customer satisfaction. Reportsproblems or changes to management immediately. Interfaces with branchmanager, service manager, service project manager or subcontractors on projectsto coordinate activities as required in an ethical and professional manner.

5. Adheres to all Johnson Controls andcustomer safety standards. Provides safety awareness on work sites.

6. May provide training to customers onelectronic control systems operations. Delivers manuals and documentation tothe customer for training needs as required. Mentors and trains mechanicalworkforce on building automation systems. Provides support to the mechanicalstaff on non-complex, non-critical equipment.

7. Compiles job documentation, such ascertificate of completion, customer training forms, training certificates andpunch lists.

8. Conducts extensive self-study (reading,research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency incompany's product lines. Completes certifications as required by thecompany.

What we look for
  • Vocational School four year program or an Associate degree inelectronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning orsimilar field plus three years of industry experience or five years’ experiencein servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
  • Generally required knowledge includes HVAC controls systems,facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipmentinstallation and servicing techniques.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent JohnsonControls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professionalmanner.
  • Ability to explain technical information to technical andnon-technical people.
  • Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics workingon non-complex, non-critical Building Automation equipment on a job site.
  • PC experience required and the ability to program HVAC relatedsoftware.
