Position summary:

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Lead Member of Technical Staff (LMTS) to join our team of developers building our next generation Scheduling, Practice Management, and Referral Management solutions.

As a Lead MTS focused on core web application components, you will need strong technical competence in multiple areas, as well as the capacity to learn quickly and function well in an Agile team environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise with Object-Oriented design and development as well as a strong foundation in REST API development. The ability to collaborate successfully with developers, architects, UX teams, and product managers is also a requirement.

Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • 6+ years of experience in web application development
  • Highly skilled in C# and .NET core (preferred) or Java
  • Proficient in RESTful API development
  • Experience in developing and deploying in cloud native applications, Azure & Cosmos DB highly preferred
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in an Agile/Scrum development environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, especially Object-Oriented design
  • Front end skills a plus; Perl skills a plus

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

70% [Primary Function] Technical Execution
  • Produce accurate, clear technical design specifications to the appropriate level of detail
  • Deliver customer value in the form of high-quality software components and services in adherence with policies on security, performance, longevity and integration testing
  • Estimate the size of development work in story points
  • Understand, follow, and reinforce Scrum methodologies, coding conventions, architectures, build processes, and best practices
  • Exceptional skill in build/test failure analysis and troubleshooting
  • Interested in and can quickly learn and leverage new and strategic technologies

20% Contributions to the Team
  • Learn and become an SME in the domain knowledge for area of assignment
  • Take ownership of what the team builds; consider customer happiness and adoption as success criteria
  • Help lead and contribute to agile ceremonies to improve team performance (i.e. daily stand-up, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives)
  • Volunteer for work in the backlog and commit to quality delivery; Coordinate efforts across the team to ensure completion and effectiveness
  • Help drive the team's self-organization; help determine how the team functions in collaboration with your peers
  • Advise and train team members to maximize overall productivity and effectiveness

10% Cross-functional Team Coordination and Communication
  • Work collaboratively across organizations to ensure alignment towards business goals
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional team members of varying experience levels
  • Share business and technical learnings with the broader engineering and product organization, while adapting the approach for different audiences
