Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Business Architecture (BA) is the blueprint of the lines of business and provides a common understanding of the organization and is used to align strategic objectives and tactical demands of the business functionality of the organization. The Business Architect serves as the bridge between the lines of business model and the lines of business strategy, and defines, refines, and expands the BA framework(s) to confirm alignment of business and technical strategies and resources.
The Business Architect will function as a key member of a team to represent how operational aspects of a (client) business interact. As part of an interdisciplinary practice team, the Business Architect will focus on defining and analyzing concerns of what business does, how it does it, how it is organized, and how it realizes value. The Business Architect will design structures and processes, leverage existing strengths, and identify potential opportunities that advance the business objectives and drive innovation. The Business Architect will develop tools to assist the business in producing plans, make business decisions, and guide their implementations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify common business functions, services, and data components to create sound program office business solutions that support enterprise business processes, and business unit-specific processes, using a holistic Enterprise Architecture (EA) and shared services approach where appropriate to deliver quality and cost-effective citizen services.
- Develop BA strategies and reference models (i.e., business, services, data, and governance models).
- Create and maintain the BA services, data, and governance reference models, including “as–is” and “to–be” roadmaps.
- Analyze and evaluate options for IT solutions to meet business needs and align with the client’s EA for efficiencies and future sustainability, including cost considerations.
- Provide options analysis of new custom builds, COTS, MOTS, SaaS, PaaS, Reuse, Cloud Computing, Transfer Technology and other viable solutions.
- Coordinate with the other vendors and agency staff to plan, architect, build, and evolve program business solutions that align with the EA frameworks as determined by the client’s Solution Architect, to support reuse of resources in the application, services, data, and technology domains of the EA blueprint.

Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Excellent strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional ability to communicate and mediate between IT and business, and to shape shared processes, architectures, and structures.
- Demonstrates the ability to lead people with the aim of identifying structural problems within organizations and minimizing functional interdependencies and silo-driven redundancies.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s degree preferred in Computer science, business Information
Experience: Deep industry expertise Health and Human Services programs
- 4+ years’ experience in IT; 3+ years’ experience in Architecture roles Track record in optimizing operational costs in medical assistance-related context.
- Experience in value stream mapping, digital customer journey mapping, among other process tools.
- Experience with all aspects of Business Architecture cycles/iterations and integration with other facets of Enterprise Architecture (Information Architecture, Data Architecture and -Technology Architecture, Governance, Change Management).
Certifications: Six Sigma Master Black Belt, TOGAF 9.2 certification or proven comparable experience
