About NCR

NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) is a leading software- and services-led enterprise provider in the financial, retail and hospitality industries. NCR is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with 36,000 employees globally. NCR is a trademark of NCR Corporation in the United States and other countries.

NCR's Experience Design (XD) team influences design thinking, strategy, and execution throughout the customer journey of numerous products, and contributes design leadership and oversight to increase product teams' understanding of the factors that influence behavior, drive engagement and increase delight.

Bringing passion, empathy and expertise to every engagement, XD drives innovation through discovery, design and optimization of factors that positively influence decision making, bring our clients' brands to life and increase efficiency and satisfaction.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • User Experience Architects (UXAs) partner with product teams that the XD group supports, engaging in user-centered analysis/design activities throughout the product development lifecycle, from the early stages of product planning and up-front analysis, through conceptual-to-detailed design sprints, up to product launch and often following release into the next iteration of product innovation.
  • Throughout each engagement, the UXA is responsible for helping internal project teams and external partners deliver exceptional experiences to their consumers by understanding and influencing business requirements, translating those requirements into system and interface designs, validating designs by gathering internal feedback and ensuring customer acceptance through usability testing.
  • User Experience Architects are most often responsible for facilitating discovery and design sessions, generating proof of concept prototypes and evolving increasingly detailed design specifications as part of an Agile release team.
  • In addition to supporting product teams as an individual contributor, UXAs are often responsible for collaborating with other XD team members to peer review the design work of other team members and co-facilitate design thinking workshops with their XD colleagues. The UXA must also have a strong commitment to continuous improvement of XD standards (e.g., usability and accessibility guidelines) and XD tools (e.g., enterprise UI style guide and pattern library).
