Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a Carpenter to join our team in McLean, VA. As a Carpenter, you will perform work related to construction. You will be responsible for the planning and the lay out of work. Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.

Hours: 4:30pm 2:30am, Monday through Thursday (4x10 hour shifts)

Responsibilities Include:
  • Perform carpentry construction work
  • Responsible for the planning, layout and execution of jobs
  • Performs minor masonry and concrete work
  • Provides oversight to outside contractors
  • Directs Carpenter II, M/M Helpers, and repair personnel as assigned
  • Read blueprints and generate bill of materials
  • Utilize your thorough knowledge of the carpentry trade
  • Operate power tools and machinery as required
  • Comprehend written and oral instruction, including writing correspondence
  • Effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization


Minimum Requirements

  • 4 years' experience in the Carpentry trade or completion of a recognized apprenticeship, vocational or internal development program for a Journeyman Carpenter
  • A willingness to work shifts if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
  • High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
