Support WFII Business Leaders and Control Executive in ensuring effective front line risk identification, measurement, monitoring, controls and mitigation; counseling business leaders on risk, issues, and remediation.
Maintain deep and dynamic understanding of the key business processes core to the WFII business
Identify and assess risks with the business
Design new and enhance existing controls in partnership with business owners including effectiveness measures, implementation support, validation of effectiveness post-implementation and controls evaluation based on defined triggers
Trace controls back to formal, documented business procedures owned in the business
Provide ongoing monitoring and assessment of the operating/control environment, including business environment changes such as new business initiatives, product change, regulatory change and/or enterprise policy change.
Facilitate end to end issues management for functional areas within WFII. Develop action plans and validate sustainability. Identify appropriate root cause and any relevant themes/trends to lead to proactive risk mitigation.
Design/develop appropriate metrics to inform and monitor the health and control of the operational risk environment with escalation based on breaches and defined triggers
Promote a strong risk culture and provide leadership for WFII business

Required Qualifications

7+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management

Other Desired Qualifications

Experience working with risk management framework in Wealth Management, Asset Management and or securities industry
Meaningful knowledge across enterprise risk management framework, including: risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance
Experience assessing the adequacy of policies, procedures and processes (includes compliance and operational controls within a large complex organization)
Experience with RCSA and business process mapping
Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and understanding of how they are implemented, managed and enforced
Understanding of best-practice risk management techniques across financial services industry
Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders and regulators, to include virtual, matrixed leadership experience and the ability to effectively manage and build relationships within the business and enterprise Risk function
Ability to adapt in a changing environment
Excellent analytical and communication skills. Must be effective with both individual contributors and senior management
Dedicated, enthusiastic, driven and performance-oriented; possesses a strong work ethic and results orientation
Ability to effectively and constructively lead change in an organization
Demonstrated leadership ability that embodies the Wells Fargo Vision and Values and leadership competencies

Proven ability to build and lead high performing control risk management organization in a matrixed environment, ensure proper staffing and expertise exists and can coach and enable others in risk management and risk ownership
Strong analytical ability used to identify risks and confidently raise issues, escalate early and engage in constructive credible challenge and will do so independently when necessary
Proven ability to proactively manage and resolve conflict and effectively defend decisions with objective rationale
