Inside Account Manager in Philadelphia, PA!

What you will do:

TheInside Account Manager is responsible for managing the sales process anddriving profitable sales growth within an assigned sales territory for bothexisting and new Airgas customers. The Inside Account Manager will be requiredto meet and exceed all assigned objectives for profitable sales growth,accounts receivable management, and customer retention within their assignedterritory.

Your responsibilities:
  • Developsand executes sales plans utilizing Airgas’ sales directives and guidelines in order to serviceand sell to existing accounts, establish new accounts, and deliver best inclass service to our customers.
  • Identifyand mobilize key customer stakeholders at all levels within a targetedcustomer.
  • Qualifiesand pursues new sales leads in both existing and new customers.
  • Maintainphone-time, call productivity and new account generation as well as othermeasures required by Management. While call volume is important in this role, theposition involves good communication and collaboration with the field salesteams and to increase sales and gross profit.
  • Providewritten and verbal pricing quotes to customers in an organized, timely andprofessional manner.
  • Maintainrolling account information to include contact information, quoting, samplessent, competitive information and other recent activity data needed to handlethe account reaching out to the customers within the assigned territory oncemonthly at a minimum.
  • Cultivatescustomer relationships by developing a deep knowledge of the customer’sbusiness and works to establish a consultative relationship.
  • Engagescustomers by linking their business priorities to the Airgas value proposition.
  • Utilizesall available resources to accomplish growth objectives.
  • Establishesand maintains clear and consistent lines of communication with internaldepartments relative to customer successes, customer opportunities, newcustomer developments and other customer specific information.
  • Ableto delineate among the Airgas Channels (e.g., Outside-Sales, Total Access,eBusiness) available to serve our customers and demonstrate the ability toidentify the best channel to serve the customer based upon their needs.
  • Negotiatessales agreements.
  • Keepscurrent with industry insights, current Airgas product offerings, monitorscompetition by gathering current relevant marketplace information on pricing,products, delivery schedules, and marketing techniques.
  • Attendall applicable company training events to remain current on product knowledge,competitive information, sales skills and new procedures. Also enhance theseskills through self-study, coaching sessions with management to review phonecalls or target areas for improved performance
  • Havea firm understanding of online resources, and utilize those tools to hostCustomer Seminars, Online Meetings, and Demonstrations
  • Interactswith District Managers/District Sales Manager through the maintenance andsubmission of required reports (e.g. daily call reports, weekly work plans, andmonthly, quarterly and annual territory analyses, customer updates; etc.).
  • Activelyreviews and assists in the management of existing customer Accounts Receivablebalances to help minimize Airgas working capital investment and financial risk.
  • Otherduties as assigned.

What you will have:
  • Bachelor’sdegree in a science, business or related degree field preferred. In lieu ofdegree, consideration for up to 4 years of additional related experience may beaccepted.
  • Aminimum of 3 years of prior outside or inside business-to-business salesexperience to include proven success in solution-selling concepts and ademonstrated history of managing customers throughout a defined salesterritory. Related industry experience may be accepted in lieu of direct salesexperience.
  • Knowledgeof customer segmentation and ability to prioritize the targeting of customersdelivering the highest value to Airgas.
  • Capabilityto lead customer interactions with Industry insights versus listing Suppliercapabilities and engage the customer by linking their business priorities toour value proposition.
  • Provensuccess of using their deep knowledge of customer's business, current macro-and microeconomic trends, industry trends, and potential new businessopportunities.
  • Demonstratesan understanding of the customer’s buying process (i.e. or Sales Process) andcan proactively advance the purchase decision.
  • Ableto make Data-Driven decisions to frame next steps with customers. Qualifies andquantifies the impact of maintaining the status quo or pursuing a competitors'solutions.
  • Musthave excellent organizational, written and oral communication, listening andpresentation skills.
  • Experienceusing a Smartphone and its functionality to enhance productivity and betterinteract with our customers is a plus.
  • Self-starter;self-motivated, operates with a sense of urgency; ability to work and succeedindependently.
  • Stronganalytical and planning skills.
  • Abilityto solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables insituations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Demonstratethe ability to consistently achieve assigned financial goals.
  • Familiaritywith industrial and specialty gases, industrial gas / welding supply sales aplus.·
  • Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and allrelated rules, regulations, procedures which are applicable to this position’sresponsibilities.
