The Software Engineering Lead owns and leads software development activities for digital control products.__ The Software Engineering Lead is on the front lines of aerospace product development and leads a team of talented engineers through development activities, to achieve technical and financial goals.__ The Software Engineering Lead will develop into a subject matter expert in aerospace software development and management practices.__

The Software Engineering Lead is responsible for the technical, schedule and financial execution of various flight control, engine control and stores management products and derivatives, designed to DO-178C and similar standards.__ The Software Engineering Lead manages a team of software engineers through the software development process, generates engineering estimates, and uses Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) to track schedule and financial performance.__ __The Engineering Lead will manage Engineering teams located both domestically, and at remote engineering sites around the globe.

Primary Responsibilities:

Perform engineering estimates by taking customer inputs to define the scope of work and cost associated with development efforts
Formulate staffing plans based on program scope, schedule, and staffing goals
Create detailed software development execution plans that align with program budget and schedule constraints
Lead software engineering teams through the execution of planned development activities
Ensure software engineering development efforts are performed to DO-178C standards
Determines end user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition.
Ensure hardware and software standards are met.
Utilize Earned Value Management Systems to ensure program performance meets cost and schedule goals
May develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
Present key program information to varying levels of management

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor___s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident ___Green Card___ holder

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Agile software development methods
Experience with embedded software engineering
Experience using Earned Value Management Systems
