Psychiatric nurses are experts in crisis intervention, mental health assessment, medication and therapy, and patient assistance. Psychiatric nurses work closely with patients to help them manage their mental illnesses and live productive, fulfilling lives.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Works within the Quality Department with a primary focus to abstract, interpret and present data for assigned databases or registries with the objective of assisting the organization in demonstrating excellence in health and clinical outcomes. 
  • This position requires a person with a positive attitude who is self-directed. Ability to competently use computer software systems for data collection and analysis is required. 
  • Facilitates or participates as directed in PI teams to identify improvement opportunities and solutions
  • Populates and analyzes data into reports used for communication and education on performance for the Core Measures indicators.  
  • Collaborate with RMC Director of Risk and Patient Safety Officer to fulfill duties specific to the population served.
  • Review incidents daily and assure timely entry into the Meditech Incident Software for review by Patient Safety Officer
  • Facilitate Event Analysis as directed at off-site location; participate in Root Cause Analysis teams for reportable events (led by RMC Risk Management team)
  • Coordinate and support quality/risk education from main campus for continuity of patient care

 

Qualifications

What Qualifications You Will Need

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with either an ADN or BSN degree.
  • Must hold a current license from the Missouri Board of Nursing or Compact license. 
  • Minimum 3 years of recent acute care clinical nursing experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, proficiency in the use of spreadsheets including pivot tables, graphing and basic statistics; knowledge of Quality Improvement methodology and team facilitation.
  • Licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation within 90 days of graduation.
  • BLS certification, Bert, CPI training within 3 months of hire and must maintain certification.
  • CPHQ preferred
