Northrop Grumman Space Sector is searching for experienced Engineer Software to join Launch Vehicles business unit to support the NGI Next Generation Interceptor Program in Chandler, AZ.

These positions are contingent upon contract award anticipated in December 2020/January 2021 timeframe.

The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for the design and implementation of embedded software, simulation, and test tools through the full software life cycle for launch vehicles. The candidate may also work in conjunction with a software project manager to develop schedules, track progress, lead a development team, and support internal and external program and customer meetings.

Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • 2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters
  • The ideal candidate shall possess a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or related field. The ideal candidate shall possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with a minimum of two (2) years of experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • The ability to obtain a secret security clearance is required
  • Experience with C/C++ and/or Java
  • Experience with software development in a Linux environment

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Familiarity with multithreaded software applications
    Familiarity with Agile methodology (i.e. Scrum)
    Active secret security clearance is preferred
