Job Description Summary

The Technician’s role is to provide a variety of facility support functions and duties. Minor repairs and maintenance needs, unskilled painting needs, physical inspections of the facilities and premises, and other related duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

  • Under the direction and supervision of a skilled worker, may conduct minor repairs to the facilities and premises as assigned including painting, patching, office and kitchen equipment, furniture, walls, ceiling tiles, carpeting, floor tiles, etc.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance, troubleshooting, basic repairs, adjustments and installations to commercial mechanical equipment including but not limited to: HVAC systems, heat pumps, condensers, cooling towers and controls, fuel systems, fire control systems, VAV and ancillary equipment, building automation systems, diesel generators and water treatment systems.
  • Repairs on toilet facilities
  • Repairs on registers and radiators
  • Replacement of lamps and cleaning of light fixtures
  • Removing ceiling tiles
  • Minor repairs on furniture and floors
  • Maintaining painting in equipment rooms, cooling towers and other building facilities
  • Replacement of air filters in the HVAC equipment
  • General cleaning in mechanical spaces and perimeter induction units
  • Cleanup of equipment in mechanical rooms and shop
  • Miscellaneous handy man work requiring limited use of hand tools
  • Replace exit signs and egress lights when needed
  • Cleaning of vents and roof drains

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in facility maintenance and commercial HVAC preventative maintenance.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • CFC or EPA Universal license

Physical Requirements

  • Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position including bending, squatting, stretching and lifting up to 25 pounds on a regular basis
  • On occasion, may be required to lift items weighing 50 to 100 pounds
  • Must be able to read and follow written manuals and SOP’s
