Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Baltimore Operations Center of Excellence (COE) is seeking an experienced, hands-on manager to lead the West Building Factory Quality Engineering organization. This position will report into the Quality & Mission Excellence functional organization and will support all programs and contracts. The qualified candidate is responsible for leading a team of quality engineers supporting both the Mechanical Design and Fabrication cell and the Assembly cells in the West Building, while providing the leadership to establish an environment to deliver repeatable product outcomes.
Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Establishes strong business relationships with programs and cross functional organizations.
  • Participate in DFX initiatives and lead continuous improvement factory wide.
  • Regularly communicates program execution status and quality metrics to a wide audience of professionals and leadership.
  • Leverages metrics, customer and employee feedback to assess risks & opportunities.
  • Meet and work with DCMA for product sell off activities and other quality related issues or concerns.
  • Provide headcount and right sized hiring forecasts
  • Conduct audits and support third party audits of the facility
  • Ensure that correct and effective metrics are utilized to improve product compliance and quality performance across the factory
  • Identify and resolve quality problems, issues, and defects through root cause investigation and corrective action implementations
  • Provide guidance to peers and management in the pursuit of quality excellence.
  • Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.


Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor ' s degree with 7+ years of progressive, relevant experience.
  • Experience leading projects and/or teams.
  • Previous experience working in quality, supply chain, program management, engineering, business, or manufacturing.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a D.O.D. Secret Clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master ' s degree in a related field.
  • Ten years ' experience in a leadership role in the Aerospace Industry.
  • Five years working in quality, supply chain, program management, engineering, business, or manufacturing
  • Active DOD Secret Clearance
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 I AS9100 Quality Management System certification process
  • Demonstrated experience integrating with multiple departments
  • Experience utilizing PCDMIS and inspecting product on CMM's
  • Experience working in the Additive Manufacturing field
  • Experience conducting root cause and corrective actions on identified quality problems, issues, and defects
  • Project management experience
  • Experienced Lean Six Sigma practitioner
  • Lean / Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Project Management certification
  • 5+ years SAP experience
