We are looking for a Lead Backend Software Developer to join our team within our US Development division. Our Austin teams build and maintain industry-leading Patient Portal applications, and we need your help building the next-generation of software! But enough about us; let's talk about you.

The Team: Our team works on industry-leading, patient-focused products that enable patients to easily schedule appointments, pay bills, access health records, review lab results, and submit medical forms online. Our software applications encourage consumers to be active and engaged participants in their own health care. Job Responsibilities
  • Provide technical design leadership and microservices development for an application suite that supports tens of thousands of concurrent users
  • Contribute to a shared Reference Architecture
  • Produce accurate, clear technical design specifications
  • Mentor junior developers
  • Collaborate successfully with developers, architects, UX Designers, and Product Managers
  • Reinforce and improve Scrum methodologies, coding conventions, architectures, build processes, and best practices
  • Deliver customer value in the form of high-quality software components and services in adherence with policies on security, performance, longevity and integration

Typical Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise-scale back-end development (Java preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in enterprise server design
  • 1+ year of AWS cloud experience
  • Recent experience in microservices development
  • Expertise in debugging across multiple technology stacks
  • Relational database/SQL experience preferred
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, especially Object-Oriented design
  • Experienced working in a CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment environment) where updates are deployed regularly to scalable cloud hosting platforms.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
